New style trends in ethical clothing

Author: riva

What you wear reflects your personality. This shows the importance of clothing you wear. The fashion trends in clothing also changes with time. In the present time

ethical clothing are getting a new momentum. New styles are available for you to wear in the ethical clothing section. The word ethical means points to thing that where morally correct. Now with the availability of new designs, cuts, colors, fabrics and sizes ethical fashion industry is booming up. This new trend has several advantages. In ethical fashion cloth, production we can see fairly paid and fairly treated workers. Production materials used is sustainable fabrics and materials like organic cotton, bamboo, hemp and recycled materials from certain waste materials. The dyes used in the clothing would be vegetable dyes or low-impact fiber-reactive dyes. Beside these advantages in the production process, adequate importance where given for providing good healthy conditions for the farmer, the assembler and the wearer. We can also help these poor people usually in the third world countries by purchasing the products with fair trade label. This label indicates that the product where made available to you through the fair trade market. Fair trade market covers the entire globe. It makes sure that the growers and producers of different places who produce different types of goods gets fair wages and good price for the items that they produce. However, the most important fact is that the fair trade guaranteed a better deal for Third Word producers. With the spreading of this fair trade

organic clothing sector is also getting a boom in the recent years. The sales of organic cotton are expecting to reach triple at the end of 2008.

By promoting ethical fashion, we are actually helping the nature, poor children, and our self. In this present time several manufacturers use unsustainable fabrics like non-organic cotton and polyester which contaminate our environment. The dying practice by using chlorine, chromium, and other pollutants will not only affect the environment it is also a great health risk for us. Besides all these merits, we will be able to prevent many poor children from child labor, as these days many manufacturers use children to in unethical ways to increase there profit margin.

The major force behind this new ethical fashion boom is public awareness. Thanks for the different Medias and other sources for the exposure of the unethical practices buy different manufacturers. Now day's designers with heart are producing many beautiful, edgy, classic, current, imaginative ethical cloths. Consumers are showing more quality mentality than what was five years before. This promotes designers to bent there are to high quality good production with exceptional fabrics.

Ethical fashion along with environmental fashion has stepped into the London fashion industry. Many top designers in the industry are at their work for production of new designs in response to the trend.

Now we understand that ethical fashion one of the prominent up coming trends among the people in present time, let us hope the ethical character prevails not only in there clothes but also to there personality.

Author: myvintage

Well it's official, the eighties are back with a vengeance! Love it or hate it, we guarantee you'll succumb to at least one eighties trend by the end of the year!

Sure you can pick up some eighties inspired fashion from a high street chain or designer label, but why not go all out authentic (and save a packet) but buying original vintage clothing?

With a whole array of vintage clothes & accesories to choose from, from the sublime to the ridiculous and everything in-between, how can you be sure you get it just right? In this guide we explore the eighties trends you should be following and how to wear them at their best...

Acid Wash Denim

Very Agness Deyn, acid wash denim is back and as punchy as ever. We've seen some glorious mini dresses, skirts, shorts and ripped jeans, all of which can be found in there original vintage form. And if you're handy with a Singer, find some vintage acid wash jeans and make your own hot pants or mini for the summer. Don't forget jackets too, keep them cropped and fitted or blazer shape for a look that's bang on trend.

Batwings

Available in both long and short sleeves, the batwing has made a few appearances in recent years, so if you're lucky you might already own one. This time it's all about the colour, pattern and detail. Stripes, polka dots, nudes and sparkles are most definitely in. Material can be thick and knitted or fine and silky. The ever flattering batwing can also be used in the multi layer look, perfectly versitile.

Bold Colour

Neons are fab and oh so hot, but as long as it's bright, block and in no way understated, then you're right where you need to be. This trends are bound to build momentum as the summer months approach, so get buying now. Clashing is encouraged so get creative. We're talking orange dress, cerise heels and lime accessories - but if you're brave enough to carry this off then don't forget the St.Tropez!

Sequins

We've all had enough of the doom and gloom, so glitz and glamour has been reignited to make us all feel extra special! Sequins make an appearance on many other looks - jumpsuits, blazers and one shoulder dresses. You can find lots of sequinned eighties vintage gems, or buy something plain and get customising!

Zips

Not for the faint hearted, zips are mega eighties and mega trashy! Best in black, look for tops, dresses, jackets and skirts with oversize or contrast colour zip detail. This is one trend that must be kept in isolation, don't mix multiple zipped separates if you want to keep your chic factor.

Polka Dots

Think Grease, Fame and Barbie. Polka dots are a cute and easy to find print that can be mixed, matched and worn in any colour combo. Best kept to dresses and skirts, but found on some snappy little blouses, polka is even more tongue in cheek than the first time round. For extra punch, try oversize dots and for sleek summer tailoring go for tiny ditsy print.

One Shoulder

A one shoulder dress will blast you into the outer fashion stratosphere and beyond. Seen all over the latest red carpets, this look has just the right balance of sex appeal, glamour and class. For fun holiday wear try a micro mini one shoulder dress or a printed one shoulder play suit. For the pinnacle of evening wear chic, go for an all out floor length gown in simple shimmering fabric.

Jumpsuits

Never to be confused with the (very naff) catsuit, your jumpsuit should be big and blousey. Shoulder pads or overworked shoulders are good, buttons are great and drawstrings and sequins add glamour and grace. Make sure your jumpsuit can be pulled in at the waist and keep trousers wide, not tapered. For the summer months, go for a sweet and sexy short playsuit (loads of pretty prints available) This wearable trend could take you right through to 2010 so invest wisely. Or just buy enough to feed your fix all year! No decent vintage boutique or website will be without these all-in-one gems so get searching... NOW!

Blazers

If you don't own one already then you need to get shopping! The perfect item to give your outfit that tailored or boyfriend edge. A masculine shape is preferable, tartans and checks are edgier and big buttons are a must! Dark colours will be more versatile but don't be afraid to try bright whites, electric blues or ruby reds!

So there we have it, our distinct guide to wearing eighties trends the right way. These rebirths can go horribly wrong but with a little guidance you can make them work in your favour. And remember, the best thing about buying vintage clothing is the reassurance that you'll be the only girl wearing that outfit. And we all know how great that feels....

Author: casual

Sportswear has been around for decades now and as its name is a bit of a giveaway it was clothing designed to be worn for playing sport with original garments including tracksuits, whether it be a full tracksuit or just a tracksuit top, t shirts, polo shirts, shorts, trainers etc. A wide variety of sports soon adopted this clothing as their attire.

Over the years sportswear became more popular and many sports stars were famous for the clothing they wore. Tennis was one of the most renowned sports for the players looking good in their sports clothing with John Mcenroe and Bjorn Borg being the two players leading the way. Mcenroes brand was Italian Sergio Tacchini and he was always looking smart and cool in his white but slightly jazzed up polo shirt and shorts. Borgs brand was again Italian but his choice was Fila, again he would be more of a fashion icon than a sportsman with his BJ tracksuit top over his striped polo shirt and tennis shorts.

Im sure the two brands rivalry off the tennis court was as big as the two players was on the court as both brands were battling to be the number one sports fashion clothing brand.

Away from tennis this sports clothing look was become a very big fashion thing and casuals from all over the country had adopted it and lads would wear Fila Vintage Tracksuit Tops on Saturday afternoon for the match with their jeans or cords and choice footwear which was normally a pair of European three stripe trainers.

It wasn’t just famous tennis players who were the only celebrities wearing Fila Vintage clothing, the iconic and desirable Wham were very big fans of it and George Michael wore a Fila Vintage Tracksuit Top on Top Of The Pops and for many photo shoots.

Although Fila Clothing was massive in the 80s it had died off by the 90s and fashions had moved. Towards the late 90s people were starting to want vintage sportswear this was due to the explosion of Britpop music and the likes of Blur and Oasis favouring the retro look. This look grew into 2000’s and Fila was a sought after label by the cool kids but you could only by second hand vintage versions of the original tracksuit tops and prices soared and the BJ Tracksuit Tops were changing hands for in excess of £300.

Fila eventually rel-aunched their original styles in the Fila Vintage range which is basically a fashion brand made of the original classic design tracksuit tops, polo shirts, shorts and other clothing from the 80s.

Film director Nick Love’s passion for Fila Vintage clothing has been seen in two of his flicks firstly The Business in 2005 were Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan would be strutting round Marbella kitted out in Vintage Fila tracksuit tops, polo shirts and shorts. In 2009 Love remade thee 80s cult football hooligan the firm and again Vintage Fila sportswear was everywhere, im sure never as much has been seen together than the 80s and im sure casuals of all ages when to see this.

With all the hype Fila Vintage is now a favourite fashion clothing brand with the cool dressers old and young.

Author: Roderick Frank

Why would a women wish to put on vintage clothes? First of all, it's fun! When you wear vintage clothes, you jump out from the crowd. The chances of someone else wearing the same exact outfit to that particular place are slim to none. More and more high school women are looking for vintage clothes for parties and proms because it assures originality. One vintage clothes collector from Los Angeles, says, "I go for vintage clothes so I can bring a little something authentically special to my clothing and not feel the same as everyone else, which is hard in trend conscious Los Angeles.."

Vintage clothes for women are also nostalgic. Recalling the great old years when there were party lines and soda stores? Me neither, but having on vintage clothes grants a man the opportunity to see a gentle piece of history. In today's equivocal world,

For the thrifty, the costs on vintage items should be incentive enough. Localised thrift shops, flea markets, and yard sales are excellent sources of vintage clothes at marvelous prices. You can also offer to help clean out grandma's house! I've received variant vintage clothes and things turned over down to me since I began collecting about three years ago.

The internet has made it simple for vintage clothes enthusiasts or collectors to search for some stores and purchase items that may not be obtainable in their region. Type "vintage clothes" into any search engine and you'll see hundreds of answers. There are a a couple of matters you must know before buying vintage clothes online, nevertheless.

Carol, owner of Dandelion Vintage, a fun and low-priced online Vintage Clothing shop situated in New Jersey, commends that first-time buyers be aware of what it signifies to purchase and wear vintage clothes. "It's not like something unused and fresh from Macy's, it's going to feel unusual and smell differently (there is no "new" clothing smell) and the items do need to be handled a gentle more carefully," she said, adding that customers must constantly ask questions up front about the clothes, especially if they are uncertain of the size or status. When surfing vintage clothes online, she says, be careful to understand the site's terms of sales, ordering procedure, and refund policy before ordering.

There are many various styles and eras to select from. Items from the early 19th century on up through the 1980's are obtainable. Whatever your style, you're sure to get something to fit you. Carol advises customers buy what they like and avoid following trends, which is outstanding advice when it comes up to collecting of any type.

Making it Work

Vintage clothes can be teamed with contemporary apparel or mixed and matched with other vintage pieces. Back in Los Angeles. A man says, "I find that wearing head to toe vintage clothes is merely not working in day to day living, but by adding a couple of pieces I can produce a look that is uniquely my personal. I frequently buy high-end designer shoes and team them with a vintage clothes and a Gap cardigan. The style is pulled together perfectly and definitely unique."

There you have it: vintage clothes are fun, inexpensive, and enable the wearer to produce and keep an original look.
"It's not like something new and fresh from Macy's, it's going to feel unusual and smell differently (there is no "new" clothing smell) and the items do need to be handled a slight more carefully," she said, adding that clients must constantly ask questions up front about the garments, specially if they are doubtful of the size or status. When surfing vintage clothes online, she says, be careful to study the site's terms of sales, ordering procedure, and refund policy before ordering.

There are numerous several trends and years to choose from. Items from the past 19th century on up through the 1980's are obtainable. Whatever your style, you're sure to get something to suit you. Carol advises customers purchase what they like and avoid following trends, which is excellent advice when it comes in to collecting of any type.

Making it Work

Vintage clothes can be teamed with trendy clothes or mixed and matched with other vintage pieces. Back in Los Angeles. A man says, "I learn that having on head to toe vintage clothes is merely not practical in day to day living, but by adding a few pieces I can produce a look that is uniquely my personal. I often buy high-end designer shoes and team them with a vintage clothes and a Gap cardigan. The look is pulled together perfectly and definitely unique."

There you have it: vintage clothes are fun, low-priced, and enable the wearer to make and hold a special style.

Author: ethical clothing

Overview

what is ethical fashion, why is it significant, and why are we just hearing about it now? Well, to respond to these questions we start with what is wrong with clothing production today. Most clothing available in shops today is produced in a unethical manner using sweatshop and/or child labour to guarantee a bigger profit markup. Makers use unsustainable fabrics like non-organic cotton ( dubbed as natural, it accounts for almost 25% of all pesticide use ) and polyester ( which is a petrol derivative ). They use traditional dying practices which release chlorine, chromium, and other contaminants into the environment posing a health issue to the farmers, assemblers and wearers ( 7 of the top 15 pesticides used on conventional US cotton crops are'possible' to'known' human carcinogens ). The shift to moral production practices in the clothing industry has been definitely important for a while making the market ripe for a positive change. Shoppers are starting to demand better.

What is ethical Fashion?

ethical fashion is that which is produced using : fairly-paid and fairly-treated adult workers ; sustainable fabrics and materials like organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, and reclaimed or recycled materials ; reduced impact fiber-reactive dyes or vegetable dyes ; respect for a healthy environment and/or product for the farmer, the assembler, and the wearer of the clothing.

Why Ethical Fashion?

we are all responsible for how our own lifestyles affect the environment. Simple measures can be brought to achieve big changes by simply switching our purchasing patterns to incorporate products made from low impact materials. Positive force on companies who have yet to volutarily clean up their acts is very easily applied by simply selecting not to spend money on their products, and helping - little by little - to grow the businesses who have made an explicit commitment to responsible business practice.

Why Now?

The wonderful thing about the booming ethical fashion industry is the enormous spread of designs, colours, cuts, fabrics and sizes now available. Long stigmatized as cousin to the burlap sack, the ethical offerings today are design-oriented. Designers with heart are creating lovely, attractive, edgy, classic, current, imaginative, and, yes, flattering pieces - ethics will simply not be compromised and thankfully neither does the look and feel of their work. Reducing our footprint can be done without making any sacrifices.

One of the main driving forces of the moral fashion boom is public awareness. Thanks to exposs on large makers, the undeniable fact that sweatshop labour is employed for the overpowering majority of production can no longer be ignored. The power of boycotting has been proven, as has the power of voting with our bucks to support good practice. Thanks to accessible work like'An Inconvenient Truth', the lay person is no longer free to soothe their environmental guilt with the denial of the existence of global warming. Thanks to alternative medical practitioners, who deal with cause instead of just symptom, we're learning that we can build health by surrounding ourselves with and consuming healthy things.

Consumers are growing weary of the quantity without quality mindset. Most designers with an ethical bent to their art, work in little batches, producing high quality goods with phenomenal fabrics. Consumers are, in increasing numbers, appreciating the right to vote with their bucks ; and are exercising it to support expansion of the sustainable textile industry, small farmers and farm co-operatives. We are all looking for methods to reduce our environmental impact, increase our social contribution, ease our consciences, hold on to some creature comforts, and continue celebrating art in all its forms.
did you get started?I can remember when in junior school if I painted or draw a picture. They would always end up on the walls of the corridor's and classrooms.I never draw just one picture I liked to draw a series based on colour, texture and theme.I was inspired by the great masters that I saw in Art galleries and books.
My mother went to Art college and I guess I was born with Artist genes.
I continued my desire to create by making numerous amounts of Clothes for my Cindy doll's and then followed this by making my own clothes.
I asked my mother to show me how to pattern cut when I was aged 5 years and have created clothes ever since.
The fashion direction which my career has taken can be affiliated to my parents as my mother was a former Fashion designer before she married my father. My father was the son of a statesman and a QC and therefore always dressed smartly and never dressed down.My fathers style of dress was accentually English aristocratic and classic.
I love to design with elements of classic and traditional bringing, colour shape and detail into a contemporary setting.
Embellishing and accessorising the classic's in dressing has always influenced my work.Creating designs with longitude and longevity has always been a strong influentual in my design work.
My etsy site is relatively new as I am just returning to work after an extended maternity leave. My daughter is now in nursery school so I am wishing to re start, relaunch my former fashion house.
A website that discusses good websites
